TBC Guest Artists vary each year, showcasing new and established collaborations with wonderful dancers, actors, singers, composers, videographers and designers.
TBC Staff
Paula Bliss (ArtSmart Lead Teacher and Mentor) teaches Children's Dance at San Jose State University and professional development workshops for Santa Clara Department of Education. She taught for Dance Force in San Mateo and for Spectra Plus, a program with Gault Elementary School and the Santa Cruz County Cultural Council, the first local program to infuse the arts into the curriculum. Paula is currently teaching music and movement at Mountain Elementary School. She has been performing and teaching with Tandy Beal and Co. for over two decades.
Saki Tamao (Lead Teacher, Kindness Project and ArtSmart) earned her BFA in Modern Dance at the University of Utah. She worked as a dancer and arts educator for Pickle Family Circus & TBC. She is currently Director of Dance for WEST Theatre and a performer and teacher with Dr. Shaffer & Mr. Stern Dance Company. She is a member of the Artist/Teacher Partnership program for the Santa Cruz County Office of Education and developed arts curricula for the SC Arts Council. She has been on the SPECTRA Arts Education roster for 20+ years and has taught in over 50 schools.
Rebecca Blair (Managing Director, Rehearsal Director, Stage Manager) was awarded a Ford Foundation Scholarship to study at the School of American Ballet and the Harkness House Ballet School in New York City. She was a charter member of Maria Tallchief's Chicago City Ballet and the Lyric Opera Ballet Company, dancing soloist roles. Rebecca has been teaching adult and children’s ballet classes in Santa Cruz since 1991. She is currently the Stage Manager and Rehearsal Director for Tandy Beal and Company. She has Stage Managed for many local dance studios, Cabrillo College Dance Concerts, as well as the Alvin Ailey Camp at Cal Performances Zellerbach in Berkeley.
Micha Scott (Lead Teacher, ArtSmart) As a 13-year senior member with Garth Fagan Dance, Micha Scott has performed and taught master classes worldwide. She has been a soloist with Tandy Beal & Company, and a featured dancer in the PBS special ‘Griot New York’ with famed composer and trumpeter Wynton Marsalis. Micha has taught dance at SUNY Brockport, Rochester School of the Arts, SCU, UCSC, Cabrillo College, public schools, and private studios. Her choreography has been commissioned by Santa Clara University, Cabrillo College, the Absolute Dance Company, and Monterey and Seaside High School. Micha is Artistic Director at Tannery World Dance and Cultural Center, the founder and Artistic Director of Empire Dance Company, dance instructor at Dancenter, and lead teacher with Tandy Beal & Company’s ArtSmart program.
